Nail Design: Newspaper Nails

For a while now, I've been wanting to do the "newspaper" nail design. This past weekend, I went ahead and did the design. It turned out to be very messy, so don't hate. It was my first attempt so keep in mind practice makes perfect! Despite how messy my nails look, I've decided to share pictures of the design with all of you!

The design
In order to get the "newspaper" nail design, you will need the following:
Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield Top/Base Coat and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Polish in "Lilac"
Any type of rubbing alcohol
Any small cup that you can pour the rubbing alcohol into. In this case, I used a medicine cup.
Any type of newspaper will work. I used a old copy of the Mississauga News.

When it comes to actually giving your nails the newspaper design, it's really easy and can be done in just six steps.

First step: Pour some rubbing alcohol into a cup

Second step: Tear up medium sized pieces of paper from the newspaper. They should be big enough to cover your nails

Third step: Put on a coat of top coat

Fourth step: Put on two coats of a solid light colored nail polish...in this case, I used "Lilac" by Sally Hansen
Fifth step: After all of your nails have completely dried, take one of your medium sized newspaper pieces and soak it up in the cup filled with rubbing alcohol.

Sixth step: After your medium sized newspaper piece has been soaked, place it on to your nail and hold it down for a good 30 seconds. After that, you should have the design imprinted on your nail!

The final result should look like the picture in the beginning of the post.

XO
