Color Block Nails!

If you haven't noticed, color blocking has been a huge trend within the fashion industry. So I thought, why not do a color block nail design? It's super easy and it doesn't take that much time.

Here's what I used:

Base & Top Coat
The black polish is a must have to define the lines you create. However, the other three colors can be any you desire.
If you don't have a nail striper, you can do what I did. I made my own by using an old eyeliner brush and cutting an old nail polish brush.

Step 1: Apply base coat.

Step 2: This can be either the last step, or second step depending on what you think will look better. Paint a vertical line. Then paint a horizontal line making sure you only paint it on one of the halves of your nail. Make sure you use the color black for this step.

Step 3: Just color in the three spaces.

Step 4: Apply top coat.

PS: I know, my nails look a tad bit messy. It's so hard to remove the side polish without ruining the design so I just left it like that!

Creative French Tips!

I got sick of looking at my 'nature' nails, so I quickly repainted my nails last night. This time however, I decided to go with a creative french tip.

My base color is ELF's "Innocent" polish, and my french tips are ELF's "Lilac" Polish!

I'm pretty sure I don't need to provide you all with the tips, since you all probably know how to do this simple design.

Marcelle BB Cream & Le Big Show Mascara Review

Recently, Marcelle sent me two of their brand new products, their BB cream and Mascara named "Le Big Show".

Marcelle's BB Cream

The Verdict

I love Marcelle's BB cream! Essentially, when I apply makeup I want it to feel light and natural. Marcelle's BB cream is just so light that when you apply it on your face, it doesn't even feel like you have any makeup on. The BB cream can be used alone or as a base for your foundation. Personally, I find the coverage so good that I wear it alone, giving me an absolute flawless look. Also, it would be best to use a small amount of product during your application as a little goes a long way.

Le Big Show Mascara

Before After
The Verdict

As you guys can see from the "before" picture, I have such small eyelashes. Their shape is actually so odd, they're a bit jagged. Anywho, onto "Le Big Show," when I first opened the bottle I was instantly in love with the sleek bristles . In my opinion, I find bristles that aren't made of rubber to work more effectively on my lashes in terms of length and volume. Right after I applied the mascara I noticed that my eyelashes looked three times bigger than usual. All in all, the mascara is super light, it leaves no extra black marks or smudges and it makes your lashes look bigger!

Note: I was not paid to do this review, rather I chose to do so by my own will. These products were sent to me by the company by consideration. In doing this review, I gave my own honest opinion on these products based on my experience.

Nail Design Of The Week

This weeks design didn't turn out as well as I wanted it to, but then again practice makes perfect! I was trying to go for that whole nature/trees esque type of thing, but my branches didn't turn out that well. Anywho, doing this design is not that easy as you can tell. I'll definitely give it another shot within the next few weeks!

Step 1: Apply base coat

Step 2: Rip off a piece of tape, and place it diagonally on your nail, making it cover one half of the nail.

Step 3: On the side of the nail that isn't covered by the tape, simply paint it any color of your choice

Step 4: Once that polish has dried, gently remove the tape. Then paint the other side of your nail a different color of your choice

Step 5: Get a nail striper  (if you don't have a striper, cut one of your old nail polish brushes in half, or use a toothpick) and paint a diagonal line where your two colors meet up.

Step 6: Paint tiny little branches

Step 7: Finish it off with some top coat

Fing'rs Zebra Print Nail Decals

Friday evening I went to Walmart with my mom and sister. I stumbled upon a package of nail decals by Fing'rs for a super inexpensive price - $2.56 actually, so I thought why not try them out!

I just simply followed the instructions on the package which were really straight forward. Peel off the nail decal from the plastic, place the decal on your nails and then top the look off by adding a coat of top coat!

The Verdict

To be honest, I wasn't satisfied with these decals. Right when I put them on my nails and waited for my top coat to dry, they started to peel. They didn't even make it through the night! As of now, I'm just going to continue to do my designs - I like them way better and I feel more creative when I do them. Placing a few decals on my nails doesn't satisfy me. Although, when I do get lazy and don't feel like painting my nails, I'm definitely going to try out Sally Hansens Salon Effects. I've heard from many individuals that they look great and also stay on for fourteen days. I can't wait to purchase them next!
